Until I found out just how bloody hard it is to be even moderately successful in a job/career that isn’t completely stultifying.  

Living in London it seems like most people are faced with three simple choices.  Coast along in your privileged life of nepotism and god-given good looks, do a shit desk job and live for the weekend, or strike out on your own and get constantly shafted by bigger companies.  The fourth, if there was to be on I suppose, would be to get the hell out.
